The Green Island, as Cyprus was known in ancient times, is the land of the grape and the olive and it relishes its reputation for sharply accented oil and refined, smooth wines. It is also a botanist's dream and in the spring the air is thick with the scent of lemon blossom, and the ground, from the lush hills of the Akamas Peninsula to the remote cliffs of the Troodos Mountains, is carpeted with wild flowers and herbs.

Best time to be there

A year round destination with long hot summers and cool mild winters. During the summer months, clear blue skies dominate and temperatures can soar above 30°C.

Temperature Ranges

Summer on the island is a season of high temperatures with cloudless sky, but the sea breeze creates a pleasant atmosphere in coastal areas. The hottest month ranges from 21 – 34 °C, in the high summer the temperatures reach up to 40 °C. In the interior of the island the temperature during the coldest months is between 7 and 15 degrees.
