Cuisine and gastronomy
Brazil, a country of continental proportions and a huge diversity of traditions and cultures, is the inspiration for Ponta dos Ganchos’ cuisine. Our chef Luis Salvajoli strives for the perfect blend of traditional recipes and Brazilian ingredients with international haute cuisine, achieving results that combine simplicity with delicious flavours. All items are chosen with great care and sourced from the best local, national and international suppliers. First-rate quality and perfect condition are the minimum requirements.
Pride of place is reserved for seafood dishes, in particular for Santa Catarina’s famous oysters, which many people consider the best in the world, such is their taste, texture and delicacy. Here in Governador Celso Ramos, it is the mussels that are famous for their flavour, colour and texture. This is one of the most important mussel-producing areas in Brazil.
To accompany our exceptional menu, we have an extensive wine list offering more than 240 different labels, with examples from Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, the United States, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
None of our mealtimes have predefined cut-off times. Our guests choose what and when to eat, with no time constraints.

In a bay with calm, emerald green waters lies a very special peninsula, a place isolated from everything, surrounded by nature on all sides, with a small, beautiful beach, perfect for resting in the sun during the day. As the afternoon fades, a unique sunset over the bay of Ganchos is an invitation to celebrate the perfect day. In the evening, a special private Dinner on the Island in front of the resort, where everything has been thought of with the comfort of two people in mind.
Ponta dos Ganchos has certain very particular characteristics that combine to make it a highly romantic destination. The stunningly beautiful location together with the resort’s concept (our guests must be over eighteen, we do not allow visitors or day users) have not gone unrecognised.
In 2005 the American magazine Travel + Leisure included the resort in a feature on the 50 most romantic places in the world and, also in 2005, the site LuxuryTravel.com listed us as one of the “Top 10 World’s Most Romantic Luxury Hideaways”, while in 2007 the resort was nominated by the respected guide to luxury tourism, Condé Nast Johansen, for the prize of “Most Excellent Romantic Hideaway in South America”.
