The palace
At the beginning of the 1700''s Marquis Baldinucci, treasurer to the Pope, had a magnificent palace constructed with two imposing granite columns at the entrance which the Marquis brought from Rome.
Today, Ciofi-Jacometti Palace has returned to its age-old splendour: the recent restoration work was realized while fully respecting the original architectural elements of the building, recovering the precious fabric, the period furniture and the original frescos dating back to the XVIII century.

Starting here, you can visit the entire historic centre of Florence on foot: Santa Croce Basilica is 50 meters from the hotel with works of art from Giotto, Cimabue and Brunelleschi.
You can arrive in a few minutes from Via Ghibellina to the Bargello, an important National Museum displaying some of the most famous masterpieces from the Italian Renaissance. Continuing in the direction of the Arno, you come to the splendid Piazza della Signoria with the Uffizi Gallery and, a little further ahead, the picturesque Ponte Vecchio, one of the symbols of Florence. About 800 meters from Relais Santa Croce the Duomo (Santa Maria del Fiore) arises, whose grand dome was realized by Brunelleschi with frescos by Vasari and Zuccari. There is also the famous square bell tower designed by Giotto and covered with white, green and red marble.
